If you add a spring drawing onto your report, the Advanced button becomes available and you have more options you can customise.

Viewing angle

There are three properties here, best described in terms of the X/Y/X axis:

  • Heading describes the rotation of the spring about the Y axis - whether you look at it from the side, or either end. The default value is 90. A value of 0 will show the spring looking from the "right" end, and a value of 180 from the "left" end.
  • Attitude describes rotation around the Z axis (the centre of the spring). The default value is 0. This can be useful if you want to see the end coil clearly from the side-on position.
  • Bank describes rotation around the X axis. The default value is 0. A value of 90 will show the spring vertically.

You can find these values for an arbitrary position by opening the "Export Image" window:

Dimension labels

You can choose to include various labels that describe the spring geometry (such as free length, solid length, etc.).
